My Favorite Time

This shift sucks. On Friday mornings, I go to work from 4am - 6am. It's a dumb shift, but it's necessary, so I do it.

The cool part about this silly 2 hour shift, and the reason I won't give it up, is that when I get home everything is so calm, so quiet; no one's awake, the tv's are off, there are no screeching sounds coming from the basement (no - the guy we keep down there stays quiet, but Mike's music gets loud sometimes) - just chill. I love it.

This week, Shelby came to stay with us. We scrapped and we scrapped and we scrapped. We made cards, art glittered some fairy princess wands, and relaxed, and it was GOOD. I miss her. They live entirely too far away.

We had "Bat: The Sequel" last night. Zion was going poo-poo in the potty, and we were all focused and concentrating when I realized that the scratching noise in the bathtub wasn't water dripping.

The screaming ensued, the poo-poo stopped, and Mike came forth with the broom. Poor Zion. Mid-poop, I whisked him out to the front porch, buck naked, grabbing the wipes and diapers along the way. I'm sure it only set us back a month or so on the potty training, don't you think?

Otherwise, we've had little excitement around here. Well, unless, of course, you count the fact that none of the orders that were SUPPOSED to be here actually got here, and the ONE order that did finally get here (late) was wrong. There was much freaking out to be had over that little issue.

Fourth of July is coming, and you'll notice that I've added a "countdown to CHA" on the right-hand side of my blog. It's not so much an excitement thing, as it is a reminder of how little time I have to get my husband employed so I can afford to buy things when we get there. Maybe the excitement's coming soon..?

Let's hope so.

Hopefully the "scare" won't set you back on the potty training. I remember my experience with Connor, we started trying to potty train right before he turned 2 and he finally was potty trained by 3!! Yes it was a very stressful year! Good Luck!

apparently bats and potty training don't mix. That's one for the kid's scrapbook ;)
