By the Way...

Just a conversation I thought needed to be shared with my blogg-ey friends:

Mike: Do you know what the fundamental difference between white people and black people is?

Sara: What?

Mike: When someone says, "Run," black people don't ask questions. They just run. They don't care what the hell they're running from.

Sara: Whatever!

Mike: Seriously! White people stand there and look dumb going, "Run? From what? Why? Is there danger?" DUH THERE'S DANGER.

Later that day, we pulled into a parking lot. Mike started to open the passenger side door, closed it again quickly and said:

"Drive. Just drive baby. Go."

Sara: Drive? Drive where? Why? What's wrong?

Mike: Sara-I-mean-it-just-stop-asking-questions-and-drive.

Sara: What are you talking about?!?

Person we haven't seen in awhile: HEY! Wassup?!? I haven't seen you guys in forever!

Mike: Goddammit Sara, that's what I was TALKING about. Your white ass just sat there lookin' dumb going, "What's he talking about? Why should I drive?" WHAT IF THAT HAD BEEN A SUICIDE BOMBER OR SOMETHING?!? Now we're stuck talking to this idiot.. {sigh}

I thought it was an interesting philosophy. Made me understand my relationship with him a lot better.

He teaches me stuff.

that is too funny. I wonder if it is true across the board though, cause my black SIL wouldn't obey without question no matter who was talking.

Because of so many years working in bars I’ve trained most of my friends that when I say go or move, they do it without question. I’m especially proud of my best friend “Well Hell Michelle”. There’s been more then a few times when I saw trouble and either I waved her off or told her to move and she did it without hesitation.

Cracks me up! I heard a comedian the other night say something similar to that!
