I Hate the Summer.

I know - we go through this every single year, and you're sick of hearing it, but this morning I woke up thinking about hot chocolate and Christmas trees and snow. I think I would be a great candidate for living in an Alaskan homestead. I'll need electricity, an internet connection and a fireplace, but otherwise, I'm good.

Hook me up.

In other news, my boss called me Tuesday in a panic. My co-worker, who's worked at Unity for about 15 years, was retiring this week. They tried to order a commemorative plaque for him and found out that it takes a minimum of two weeks to have something like that done. "Is there anything you can do?" she asked.

Sure! Put the catalogs aside and got to work... here's what I came up with:

It says:

"As you retire, keep a firm grip on your perspective toward life.
Life is not measured so much by the quantity of days, but by their quality.
Bring your all to bear upon the coming days of your life,
so that each day will be the fulfillment of a hope, a dream...
Fill your days with beautiful memories and joyful moments.
Don't retire from life, but continue to experience all that life has to offer.
As you retire, share your wisdom and your knowledge.
See the gift of retirement as a gift of new horizons.

Our warmest and sincerest thanks for your years of service to the Unity Village Security Department. Best Wishes for your Future!"

So, it's kinda plain, and pretty basic, but I dig it, and it made Jim cry, and that's what counts, right?

Made a guest book too.. too tired to upload it now.

While I was making the canvas, Zion was making his own beautiful work of art.

that looks great Sara, much better than a plaque. I like Zion's too, especially on his face. Brave of you to give him that on carpet!

I'm totally digging the Alaska thing right now too! Much too hot for me right now. And the humidity! Ugh!
