When I was single, we called my house "The Happy Little Hippie House." It was so much fun.. it looked like the Color Fairy threw up all over the house. I had a purple kitchen and a teal living room and a lavender bedroom and another green bedroom and my bathroom was cobalt.. just a fun place.
When guests came, we camped out on big throw pillows on the floor or futons.
My refrigerator was painted with chalkboard paint, so if I needed to jot down a phone number or something I could. When it got full, we erased it. When I had parties (which were fairly frequent in those days), everyone drew pictures on it, signed it, doodled on it - then I took a picture of it and erased the whole mess for the next party.
People were always showing up with treasures - my friend Jenny brought me this turtle that she found at an antique store that had all these funky beads and jewels and mirrors all over it. She said, "It just LOOKED like you!"
And it did.
I had prisms hanging in windows, and beaded curtains, and everything was OPEN - nothing had doors on it except the bathroom. Even the kitchen cabinets were door-free. Lots of good energy flowing through that house.
I miss that good energy. It seems like the only thing we have here is clutter. I'm tired of it. It needs to go far, far away.
I think my focus this week is gonna be on getting rid of the crap, and making this place flow.

you know what, clutter just makes me tired and grouchy. That was my biggest struggle at the other house, I kept getting rid of stuff and still had so much clutter. My goal here is to remain clutter free.
Good luck with your de-crapping : )
I know a couple of girls who love to organize;) Good luck with your quest to de-clutter. It's hard.
Yeah you!!
I'm going to de-crap a closet sometime this week :) Have some wire storage cubes I'm gonna use to help control the mess and preserve the goodies that get lost in there :)
You should have a party when you're done :)
Hey when you get done with that at your house, mine needs some help too!
I think I would have loved your house! Would have been fun to play in but unfortunately we're expected to grow up. That is why it's fun to have children and paint their rooms bright pink, lavendar with purple trim and bright green with black trim. I can't wait until I can be creative in my "future" scraproom! :)
wow - your house sounded awesome!!!
But I know what you mean about clutter... I am a clutter phobe... it really brings me down!
I vote we all ditch the "grown up" look, and paint bright colors on the walls again. ;-)
