Happy Anniversary to Me!

Three years ago today! Here's the obligatory wedding post. ;)

I was supposed to stay at my grandmother's house the night before my wedding. We were at the church late finishing the set-up, and my grandfather was going to leave the door unlocked. When I arrived at their house at 2am, everyone was asleep and all the doors were locked.

Home I went.

When we got to the house, Mike's cousin called. He was here from Jefferson City with his parents so they could come to the wedding, and he wanted to come by and have a drink with Mike.

He walked in and introduced himself. We sat and chatted for a few minutes, and then I said, "Ok, I have to get to bed.. big day tomorrow."

"Are you in the wedding?" he asked.

"Are you joking?" I replied.

We both looked at Mike, very confused.

"H," he said, "this Sara, my fiancee."

The light bulb went off in his cousin's head.

"OOOOOOOOH! You're MARRYING her! I thought you were marrying that OTHER chick! I was gonna ask what the hell you were doing with some girl here the night before your wedding.. this makes a lot more sense now! Sara, it's great to meet you! Good luck tomorrow!"

We overslept the next morning by a half hour. Ran out the door like crazy people. Forgot some stuff, but that's par for the course.

We had a blast at our wedding. Lots of stuff went wrong, and my father-in-law assured us repeatedly that no one would remember in 100 years. We got married and that's what mattered.

And NOW, today WE GET TO HAVE A DATE NIGHT!

Every year we try to celebrate our anniversary and something goes wrong.. someone's sick, someone gets called in to work, Zion was even sick one year.

This year, we're going. Babysitter's lined up, movie tickets have been purchased, and I'm going to put on MAKEUP. That doesn't happen often, lemme just tell ya.
