First of all, I'd just like to tell you how cool I am. I have a laptop. I can now join the scores of people who travel to coffee shops JUST to sit and type on their laptops. I am sitting here at work, right next to a fully-functional desktop computer, typing away on my totally rad new laptop for no apparent reason EXCEPT that I can. ;)
Second, we had an exciting week in Mabin-land. I set the stove on fire Thursday. Zion wanted noodles. "Noos, Mommy?" he said about 7 times. Ok, I said. Let's make noodles. The next thing I knew, the entire kitchen was ablaze. Zion was running in circles in my little bitty kitchen screaming, "HOT! HOT, MOMMY, HOT!" I was screaming, "I KNOW! WHAT THE HELL DID YOUR FATHER DO WITH THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER?!?"
I finally just started throwing flour on top of it, not really knowing if that would help or not, cause who the heck knew what exactly was on fire? Was it a grease fire? I don't know!
The flour caught on fire too. Zion was still screaming "HOT! HOT! HOT!" I was screaming, "WOULD YOU PLEASE GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN?!? DON'T YOU THINK YOU'VE LOST ENOUGH HAIR ALREADY THIS WEEK?!?"
It finally burned itself out. I called Mike at work to ask him to bring home a new fire extinguisher, since the one I thought I had would have been about 3 years old anyway, and this isn't the first time I've set the kitchen on fire (those of you who have been to my house recently might have noticed the charred toaster oven that currently resides on the front porch).
So now we have a mess of an oven (anyone know how to get the charred remains of 5 lbs. of wheat flour off of your stove top?) and a shiny new fire extinguisher in our kitchen. I'm thinking God's trying to tell me something. Mike doesn't agree with that at all.
BUT, I did manage to cook corned beef and cabbage successfully. I think. Heather and Pete and family came for dinner that same evening and, to the best of my knowledge, no one has succombed to any crazy diseases that can be traced back to that particular meal, so I assume we're ok.
Got lots of new product in this week, and you know that's exciting stuff there. We ordered some Dream Street papers, and they are GROOVY (remember? new word!). I don't really have anything else to report.. I just like looking cool typing on my new laptop.
Happy Weekending!
