Winter Solstice

The winter solstice signifies a turning point in the year - it's been called a "festival of renewal," and a "rebirth of the sun." I love this time of the year. Yes, my heart lies with autumn, but winter is definitely a close second on that list.

Yesterday was an awesome day. My grandma wanted me to go to the stores and purchase all of our Christmas presents that would be FROM her - she reimbursed me and wrapped them. She says she's too old to be running around after toys, video games and cds. I dropped Zion off at her house around 4:00, and I was free for the evening (until I had to come to work, anyway).

After a quick dinner with my mama and {older} sister (hijinks ensued), I went to Borders in Lees Summit.

THREE HOURS spent wandering the aisles, latte in hand, gazing at all of the printed goodness. That's the only thing I really miss about "life before Zion" - I used to leave early for work and stop by Borders on the way. I haven't been able to do that in years.

Scrappin' readers, let me show you the books I got. You need to put 'em on your list.

I am loving every single page of these books - especially the Artful Cards one. It amazes me the things people can do with paper and glue (okok, and stamps, and glitter, and embossing powder, and ink..).

I will be spending my weekend working on an album for one of Mike's co-workers - she wants it finished by Christmas, and she just told me Tuesday. If I can ever finish it, I'll be working on a REAL website for Serendipity Scraps. I'm still completely overwhelmed at the response we've had - you guys rock my world. I hope everyone has a fabulous Christmas - we'll have some more exciting stuff for you when you're finished celebrating!
